Do you want to play a part in creating our school’s yearbook? In Journalism, students learn about the role of journalism in society and the basics of ethical reporting by conducting interviews with peers and teachers. Students also explore the fundamentals of photography and how to capture impactful images. Students are able to understand the process of layout design and collaborating with peers to plan and design, eventually producing the school yearbook. Students get to work in teams to brainstorm ideas, assign tasks, and meet deadlines. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in journalism principles, a deeper appreciation for the role of media in our world, and will have created a yearbook for Yorba students to look back on in the years to come!
