Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I am thrilled to be at Villa Park Elementary for my fourth year as principal. The staff at VPE is a group of dedicated professionals here to support all students to thrive in learning and life. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond each and every day. Our data shows that our instructional strategies are working. In both state and local assessments, we outscore state and county averages and the percentage of our students reaching and exceeding proficiency targets continue to grow. Villa Park Elementary is already an outstanding school, yet we continuously strive to improve.
Villa Park Elementary believes that learning is a team effort, and parent and community involvement is key to our success. We have a highly active Home and School League and Dad’s Club. Both these parent organizations enrich our school and community in a number of ways such as funding school wide programs and campus improvements, organizing family fun events, and providing countless volunteer hours to support our students. We are also pleased to have the support of community groups such as the Villa Park Rotary Club and the Villa Park Women’s League who contribute extra funds for teacher projects, STEM, and arts initiatives.
I have worked in Orange Unified School District and the field of education for eighteen years. Following nine years of elementary teaching experience, I moved to the District Office as an instructional coach supporting teachers and students in curriculum, instruction, and intervention. I then accepted an administrative position as Coordinator of Inclusive Schooling. I am thrilled to be Principal for Villa Park Elementary School and am honored to carry on the rich traditions and rigorous learning environment currently in place at VPE.
I am a proud mother of two beautiful girls Charlotte (8), and Caroline (6). I am lucky to have both girls attend Villa Park Elementary so I am keenly aware of the importance of family involvement and the significance of the school community. During my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with my daughters, husband (Jeff), and Great Dane (Winston).
As the VPE principal, you can expect that I will be visible, accessible, and collaborative. I am looking forward to working together as partners in learning.
