Hello Serrano Families,
Welcome to Serrano Elementary School, home of the Eagles! My name is Nathan Garrett and I am your new principal. I am thrilled to be part of a community of people who are committed to doing what is best for all students and welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year!
This is my twelfth year as a professional educator having had experiences ranging from Third Grade Teacher, Middle and High School Education Specialist, Intervention Specialist, Assistant Principal and now Principal. I look forward with enthusiasm to the new school year, providing the highest quality education for all students. My passion is to create unlimited opportunities by fostering a collaborative culture whereby teachers learn in a community to empower students and truly believe that all students will be successful!
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vanguard University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University. I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, an Education Specialist Instructional Credential for Mild to Moderate Disabilities, and an Administrative Services Credential. For the last ten years, I have served the students and families of the Orange Unified School District and I am thrilled to continue my service as the Principal of Serrano Elementary School.
As an educator, my highest priority is that students are connected, treated with respect, and are able to learn in a safe and engaging school environment. I’m convinced it is essential that families and school staff communicate and work collaboratively to ensure students’ success. My personal mission is to ensure that students are excited to attend school each day, passionate about their learning, equipped to problem solve, influence and contribute positively in their community, as well as globally. I look forward to the 2019-2020 school year with great enthusiasm! Go Eagles!
