GATE
Current students who become GATE identified in 2nd grade are provided options for their 3rd grade year by OUSD's GATE department. If students wish to remain at Running Springs Academy for their 3rd grade year, students are placed in the GATE cluster classroom taught by a GATE trained teacher. If a GATE identified student whose school of residence is a school other than RSA wishes to attend Running Springs Academy and join the GATE cluster, that student must complete the Open Enrollment application and be admitted to Running Springs Academy pending space available in the 3rd grade.
The GATE magnet program at Running Springs Academy begins in 4th grade with dedicated classes for GATE students in grades 4, 5, and 6. GATE identified students currently attending Running Springs Academy have priority in being placed in the GATE magnet program. GATE identified students attending other OUSD schools are accepted into the dedicated GATE classes pending space available in the program.
