Mission and Vision
Mission Statement
The mission of OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy and OUSD Home School is to provide a curriculum and learning environment of excellence and high expectations to provide each student with the opportunity and preparation to compete in the global economy. OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy/OUSD Home School’s mission follows LCAP and District goals, which can be found on our website. LCAP funding is allocated toward student support for academic, behavioral and social-emotional counseling support to include systems and teacher professional development as well as increased parent involvement.
OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy is for students K to 12 where each student receives a personalized, flexible learning environment. There are innovative opportunities to foster communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creative learning and independence. There are rigorous course offerings, College Preparatory, Advanced Placement, Honors and Lab Science Courses (A to G Approved). There are highly qualified mentor teachers to provide academic and social-emotional support and instruction and 2 full time counselors.
Vision Statement
The Vision of OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy/OUSD Home School provides an interactive, flexible, student centered experience to meet the needs of students and their families. OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy/OUSD Home School’s school vision is to provide a high-quality alternative education option for students who need or desire the more personalized and flexible setting of home education. The program builds upon strengths and assets while identifying and providing support in the areas of weakness. Work completion/attendance, SBAC data, iReady data, D/F rates and credit accrual toward graduation will be reviewed when considering the relevance and effectiveness of the OUSD EDGE Virtual Academy/OUSD Home School’s mission and vision. The Schoolwide Learning Objectives (SLOs) are now aligned to the District EDGE Graduate Profile and posted in every room.
