OUSD Dress Standards
School Board Policies and Administrative Regulations #5132 and #5136 clearly establish standards for appropriate student attire in the Orange Unified School District. The Governing Board of Education believes that appropraite dress and grooming contribute to a productive learning environment. The Board expects students to give proper attention to personal cleanliness and to wear suitable clothing.
The primary standards for student dress are to be neat and clean while at school and to conform to the OUSD "Dress Standards". Students are not to be attired in clothing which compromises safety or modesty, clothing which is disruptive to the educational process, ad any clothing/shoes that may potentially be destructive to personal or school property.

Any attire disruptive to the instructional process, which may include, but not limited to:

Thank you for your cooperation as we adhere to these policies.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Safety is our top priority when dealing with arrival and dismissal procedures. Please be patient and obey all traffic laws to keep all of our students safe!
- Campus opens and supervision is available at 7:25 am.
- Breakfast is served at 7:25 am.
- Office Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Arrival and Dismissal:
Please drop-off and pick-up your child in the Drop-off Lane at the front of the school for All Grades.
Students waiting to be picked up should always wait at the front of the school. Office staff will bring students into the office to wait 15 minutes after dismissal. Parents must come into the office to sign their child out of the office.
Please do not park in the drop off/pick up lane. If you want to walk your student to the gate please park in the neighborhood or school parking lot. Be patient as we start up the year with drop off and pick up.
Parking Lot:
Our parking lot is very narrow with limited space. Please do not pull into the parking lot to drop off or pick up children. It is very dangerous to have children walking through the parking lot. You are welcome to park in the lot if you will be exiting your car with your child or if you will be coming into the school.
Crosswalks:
All pedestrians should use the cross walks around our school. Please discuss this with your child if they walk to school.
Late arrival:
For your child’s safety, our gates are locked immediately after the bell rings in the morning. Students arriving after 7:50 am need to go through the front office.
Parents/Visitors on Campus:
All parents and visitors must sign in in the front office before coming onto campus with a photo ID. This includes any time before and after school. Thank you for following this important safety precaution at all times.
School Safety
Important Emergency Preparedness Information:
In case of an emergency, it is important that parents are informed of our School Safety Plan. We have made plans and practice for emergencies including fire, earthquake, and lock down on a regular basis.
A few important things for you to know regarding our emergency preparedness plans:
· The school field is our primary evacuation site. The gate along Lincoln Ave is identified as our “Reunion Gate”. Students will be released through this gate if a situation requires evacuation to the field.
· The Orange Church of the Nazarene at 1125 E. Palmyra Ave is our secondary evacuation site. If we ever had the need to evacuate our school, students would be escorted to this location.
· Adults picking up students during an emergency must be a parent/guardian or be listed as an emergency contact. Be prepared to show a picture ID. We ask for your patience as we work to safely release all of our students. It is very important to keep your emergency contacts up to date with the office.
· If available in an emergency, we will communicate with you using the automated phone call system. If you are not receiving the school phone calls on a regular basis, please make sure your information is up to date.
Please take some time to review your emergency preparedness at home. It is important to review plans with your children as well.
