AVID

The Orange Unified School District started offering AVID classes to its middle and high school students in 2013 in an effort to help support all students in their efforts to attend post secondary education. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination AVID is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills.

Jordan Academy of Language and Computer Science has joined the ranks of schools offering AVID to students. This program is designed to develop encompassing communication, organization, and writing skills necessary to higher education.
