Principal's Message

Welcome to Imperial! A greeting you will hear from staff, students, and parents alike. Imperial is a warm and friendly school, where you will find children from varied backgrounds and needs learning and growing.

Imperial Elementary School was opened in 1976 as an elementary school focused on the arts. Through the years Imperial has blossomed into a school where academics are the focus and compassion is the practice. Nestled in Anaheim Hills, we are a school active in the community and in promoting community service.

Our main purpose at Imperial is to ensure a safe and challenging learning environment for each and every student. Our highly qualified teaching staff uses state and district curricular standards and chooses the most effective instructional strategies and methods to meet our students’ needs.

At Imperial we have special programs to meet the diverse needs of our students. For our youngest students we offer Transitional Kindergarten, a program for those students whose birth-dates make them too young for traditional Kindergarten. This special program promotes readiness and social skills, helping to prepare them for Kindergarten the following year.

Imperial is the home to a strong and effective Special Education Program. Our students not only have the academic supports they need for success, they are active participants in all of the activities the school offers. These classes are designed to help participating students meet their academic goals and also bring a special diversity to our school home.

Parents have the opportunity to take an active role at Imperial. Our PTA is strong and provides the extras that make Imperial a special place. Our partnership with Canyon High School’s Careers in Education Program gives our students the opportunity to work in small groups, while helping high school students participate in pre-education course work toward their intended career. This year we are again partnering with students from Canyon High School to share the focus of Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) with our students.

Each and every day brings learning opportunities to our students. Whether they are participating in our Physical Education Program, our Music program, or working in the garden our students take learning to an exceptional level. Academically Imperial students score above state and local levels and are well prepared for their scholastic future.

As Imperial embraces its 41st year, we are proud to call ourselves a California Gold Ribbon School. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year.

We are Eagles watch us SOAR!

Sincerely,

Gigi Kelley
