Principal's Message

My name is Jeff Morgan, and I am both honored and thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Handy Elementary School. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I want to take a moment to share a little about myself and my vision for the school year ahead.

I’'m a proud Bay Area native, and I’ve spent my entire career in education within Orange Unified School District. I earned my BA in Spanish from Chico State University and later completed my teaching credential through Cal State Fullerton. I also hold a master’s degree and an administrative services credential from National University.

This year marks my nineteenth year in education. Over that time, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles—from Spanish teacher and Activities Director at Villa Park High School, to Assistant Principal at Orange High School, Principal at Portola Middle School, and most recently, Principal at Olive Elementary School, These experiences have shaped my deep passion for fostering a supportive, engaging, and enriching environment for both students and families.

I am excited to begin my journey here at Handy Elementary and to work alongside all of you to continue making this a place where every child can grow, learn, and thrive.

One of my core beliefs is that when students and families are involved, students are more engaged and successful in school. This belief was shaped during my time as an Activities Director, where I saw firsthand how student involvement positively impacted academic growth and school culture.

I also know the strength of a school lies in the relationships we build—with students, with families, and with our wider community. Together, we have the power to create a supportive environment that nurtures our children both academically and personally. It’s our shared responsibility to prepare them not only for the academic challenges ahead but also to become thoughtful, kind, and responsible citizens.

Our goal at Handy Elementary is to equip every student with the tools they need to grow, thrive, and confidently pursue their passions. I look forward to working alongside you this year to support our students in reaching their full potential.

Thank you for the warm welcome—I can't wait to meet you and your children soon!
