Have you ever wanted to play the trumpet? Violin? Flute? Guitar? Clarinet? Well, you have come to the right place! The Yorba Instrumental Music Department offers Band, Guitar and Orchestra programs for all of our 6th-8th grade students. No experience required! You will learn skills on your selected instrument, how to read music, and how to be a critical listener. Students with experience on their instruments will be placed in our advanced ensembles where available, or given leadership roles and musical features where their technique and musicianship will be challenged to help them grow as young musicians.

Yorba Music students perform in many concerts at school and in the Orange community. We have Winter and Spring Concerts on campus in our Multi-Purpose Room. Advanced band students perform at Fred Kelly Stadium alongside OHS musicians as an introduction to marching band. Yorba students participate in the OUSD Honor Band and Orchestra groups where they have the opportunity to work with well known guest conductors in the music industry. Students will also have the chance to experiment with music recording, and play at community events such as the City of Orange May Parade.

The Yorba Music Department’s goal is to give your child a positive experience with music that can inspire a lifelong passion for the arts. Yorba Music students will leave us with a strong foundation in music theory, the ability to play their chosen instrument, a sense of group responsibility and time management, as well as many fun memories of field trips, performances and fun with friends.
