OUSD Community Science Night

Every year, OUSD hosts a Community STEAM Night with Santiago Community College, and offers a variety of engaging STEAM-related activities for all ages. The event is free and open to the public. 

This year's event will be hosted on April 25, 2025.

 

School STEAM Nights

Every year, elementary sites from across the district host their own school-based STEAM/Science Nights with the support of teachers, parent volunteers, and administrators.

OUSD District Robotics Tournament

 

Each Spring, 4th through 6th grade students from our elementary schools compete in our District Robotics Tournament.  Teams spend up to 6 months practicing with the FIRST LEGO Challenge Mats and Spike Prime Robotics kits to complete missions around the Mat.  Each year is a different Challenge Mat.  Below are pictures from last year's 2024 Tournament "Masterpiece" - with the McPherson Meteor Bots 2 Team as the winners!  This year's 2025 Challenge is Submerged!  Join us on Thursday, March 6 at Portola Middle School to watch this exciting Robotics event!
