A+ Teacher Program

The A+ Teacher Program supports educators in creating effective, engaging, and student-centered learning experiences with iPad.

Participants work collaboratively with colleagues, set personalized instructional goals, explore practical classroom strategies, and receive ongoing support as they integrate technology into teaching and learning.

The program is designed for educators at all levels of experience, whether they are beginning to use iPad in a 1:1 environment or looking to deepen and expand their current practice.

Program activities may include:

• Collaborative planning and professional learning

• Personalized instructional goal setting

• Classroom integration strategies

• Exploration of Apple tools and instructional applications

• Support toward Apple Teacher recognition

• Opportunities to reflect on student learning and share successful practices

Program schedules, participation requirements, and application information are shared when each new cohort opens.

EduProtocols Professional Learning

EduProtocols provides teachers with flexible instructional frameworks that support student engagement, collaboration, critical thinking, and deeper learning across subject areas.

OUSD educators participate in professional learning cohorts, classroom implementation, collaborative planning, and ongoing reflection as they adapt EduProtocols to meet the needs of their students.

Educational Technology supports this work through:

• Teacher cohorts and collaborative learning

• Classroom visits and coaching

• Data collection and reflection

• Schoolwide implementation support

• Opportunities to share effective instructional practices

Programs may include Dream Team cohorts, Hot Shots, summer learning opportunities, and other districtwide EduProtocols initiatives.

GET IT! Teacher Cohorts

GET IT! provides educators with collaborative professional learning focused on reading literacy through effective technology integration, instructional design, and student-centered learning.

Elementary and secondary teachers participate in cohort-based learning experiences where they explore digital tools, develop classroom applications, share ideas with colleagues, and reflect on student outcomes around reading literacy structures.

Educational Technology supports participants through:

• Collaborative planning and professional learning

• Practical classroom implementation

• Grade-level or subject-area connections

• Peer feedback and shared resources

• Ongoing support throughout the cohort

Artificial Intelligence Professional Learning

OUSD provides professional learning to help educators and administrators understand artificial intelligence and use it thoughtfully, responsibly, and effectively.

Learning opportunities are designed to build confidence, strengthen instructional practice, and support appropriate decision-making as AI tools continue to evolve.

Professional learning may include:

• Introductory, intermediate, and advanced AI training

• Teacher professional learning communities

• Administrator lunch-and-learn sessions

• Support for instructional planning and classroom integration

• Guidance on responsible and ethical AI use

• Family information sessions and community learning opportunities

Program topics, schedules, and participation opportunities may vary throughout the school year.

Educational Technology Advisory Committee

The Educational Technology Advisory Committee, or ETAC, brings together representatives from across Orange Unified School District to review topics related to educational technology, student learning, digital resources, and instructional practice.

Committee members provide feedback, identify emerging needs, and advise the Educational Technology Department on programs, tools, policies, and solutions that support teaching and learning throughout the district.

ETAC meets three times during the school year. Meeting dates, agendas, and minutes are available below.

Library Media Specialists and Technicians

Library Media Specialists and Technicians support student learning by managing school library programs, instructional resources, digital materials, textbooks, and district-issued devices.

They help students and staff access reliable information and educational resources while promoting literacy, research skills, digital citizenship, and the responsible use of technology.

As an advisory group, Library Media Specialists and Technicians also collaborate with Educational Technology to identify school needs, share effective practices, provide feedback on district initiatives, and improve access to resources across OUSD.

Teacher Technology Leads

Teacher Technology Leads, or TTLs, serve as school-site liaisons between Educational Technology and their colleagues.

TTLs support effective technology integration by sharing district updates, helping teachers access digital resources, identifying school-site needs, and providing feedback on instructional technology programs and initiatives.

Their work may include:

• Supporting teachers with digital instructional tools and resources

• Sharing information about district technology programs and updates

• Helping staff access and distribute digital curriculum

• Promoting effective and responsible technology use

• Gathering feedback and identifying school-site technology needs

• Collaborating with Educational Technology and other TTLs across the district

Each school identifies one or more Teacher Technology Leads to support communication, collaboration, and technology integration at the site.
