Resource Optimization Coalition

OUSD is striving to transform our district into a competitive, destination-quality system. By strategically optimizing resources and modernizing facilities, we are securing long-term stability to provide:

  • Innovative Academics: Advanced placement, STEM, and future-ready learning experiences
  • Robust Arts: Expanded visual and performing arts programs at every site
  • Access to Support: Ensuring every student, regardless of school, has access to high-quality resources

Who is ROC?

ROC is a coalition of a cross-section of district educational partners, including staff, families, and community members. Its purpose is to recommend criteria and guiding principles to align district-wide resources for optimization. The work of the coalition members is guided by the following “why”:

OUSD is striving to transform the district into a competitive, destination-quality system by strategically consolidating resources and modernizing facilities to ensure long-term stability and offer the most innovative, robust programs—advanced academics, visual and performing arts, future-ready learning experiences—while ensuring equitable support for every student across all schools to attract and retain students and families.
