Canyon, Kristi McDougall:
As 21st Century Skills Instructional Specialist at Canyon High School, Kristi is working to build College & Career Pathways in the Orange Unified School District. She works with our teachers to provide students with 21st century skills that will carry them into their career. Prior to becoming an Instructional Specialist, Kristi was an Education Pathway teacher and CTE Mentor. Before coming to Orange Unified, she spent 23 years teaching at the elementary school level.

El Modena, Maureen Fechter:
As the Instructional Specialist for 21st Century Learning, Maureen is helping to build College & Career Pathways at the high school and connect them to pathways and programs at the college level. Maureen is actively promoting pathways in the community and working closely with teachers from both CTE and core academics to collaborate and build lessons that have our students college and career ready with 21st century skills. Maureen’s background is teaching business, marketing, and computer science classes, and coordinating internship and cooperative work programs. She has been involved with several Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), including SkillsUSA, DECA, and FBLA. In addition to her experience working in education, Maureen has been a small business owner, an implementation specialist, and has held various business administration roles.

Orange High School, Laura Herbert:
Laura began teaching at Orange High School ten years ago as a Biology and Physiology teacher. She spent three years as a Math and Science Instructional Coach at Orange High before moving into the College and Career Center as the P21 Instructional Specialist. Laura completed her undergraduate degree in Social Ecology at UC Irvine and has a master’s degree in Cross Cultural Education. Laura coordinates the Pathways programs at Orange High School and works with OHS stakeholders to ensure that students are College and Career ready at graduation.

Villa Park, Scott Soukup:
Scott Soukup has over 20 years of experience in education, 14 of them in the Orange Unified School District. Scott graduated from Cal State, Fullerton with a degree in Political Science. He earned his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Cal State, San Bernardino. He spent his first 7 years in the district as an Assistant Principal and now finds himself in a role he loves, 21st Century Learning Instructional Specialist. Scott works closely with the Villa Park administrative team in shaping their shared vision of creating a 21st Century School that serves the needs of all students. Scott is dedicated to expanding and developing the College and Career Pathways at Villa Park and ensuring that all students leave VPHS with the skills needed to be successful.
