Before & After School Registration
The Centers for Afterschool Recreation, Enrichment & Safety (CARES) provides engaging and attentive before- and after-school enrichment programs for students attending elementary and middle schools in the Orange Unified School District (OUSD). CARES is a parent-paid program; however, families may be eligible for free or reduced-cost participation through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant.
CARES is offered at 17 elementary school sites and two middle schools, serving more than 2,000 students each year. Our program offers a wide range of activities that support academic enrichment, social development, and physical health in a safe and supportive environment.
Research shows that students who participate in after-school programs demonstrate improved personal and social skills, stronger connections to school, positive social behaviors, increased standardized test scores and work habits, and reduced behavior challenges.
