Principal's Message

Welcome Roadrunner Families,

Canyon Rim Elementary Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that supports all students’ unique learning styles, empowers them to achieve academic success, and encourages them to become lifelong learners and productive members of society competing in the global economy.

I am excited to be joining the Canyon Rim Elementary School family this year. Canyon Rim Elementary is a welcoming and supportive learning environment where children have agency and ownership over their learning and their natural curiosity of the world is fostered. We are a college and career readiness school through our RIASEC program, where the following themes are integrated through the daily fabric of our learning environment: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.

This is my first year with Orange Unified School District, my fifteenth year in education, and almost twentieth year as an Orange resident. I have served as a classroom teacher in grades K-8th, a reading specialist, a curriculum coach, and most recently as a vice principal for five years. My core value is to ensure students are centered in every aspect, and to lead with care, understanding, and high expectations

The most important partnership in education is the bridge between home and school. At Canyon Rim Elementary, we are committed to working hand-in-hand with you to support every child’s academic, social, and emotional growth and achievement. This includes consistent communication, a shared commitment, and collaboration. Whether you support your child at home, volunteer on campus, or attend school events, your active involvement is vital and truly makes all the difference.

Canyon Rim students are S.T.A.R.S! * Safe * There and Ready to Learn * Act Responsibly * Respectful * Show Compassion with a Kind Heart *

Our staff is committed to helping your child achieve excellence. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, ideas, or comments. Here is to a great year of Shining Bright in the Canyons!

With warm wishes,
