Mauricio Govea, Behavior Support Aide at Chapman Hills Elementary

Chapman Hills Principal Jana Saenz recognized Mauricio Govea with an Orange Unified EDGE Challenge Coin for exemplifying Focus Area 3.0 - Genuine Wellness & Safety - and core values of Integrity, Equity, Respect, and Excellence.

She had this to say about Mauricio:

Mauricio joined the Chapman Hills team this August and immediately immersed himself in helping teachers and students with both behavior and academic needs. He always has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever he is needed. He treats each student as an individual and is able to determine what their needs are and how to best help. He sets high expectations for students and gives them the tools to achieve their goals. He is creative in problem solving and is a constant smile every morning when students enter the school. When working with a student individually, he treats them like they are the most important person at that moment...everyone is an individual. He remembers the little things kids tell him and asks about it at a later time. He's our secret weapon to enhancing the genuine wellness and safety of all students. His ability to build relationships is top notch and truly a gift.
