OUSD Schools Earn 2026 California PBIS Recognition for Commitment to Positive School Communities

ORANGE, Calif. — September 2026 — Orange Unified School District is proud to congratulate Cambridge and Villa Park Elementary Schools for being awarded 2026 silver-level California Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition for their commitment to implementing PBIS with fidelity and creating positive social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for students.

The California PBIS Recognition program celebrates schools and districts across the state that demonstrate strong implementation of PBIS practices designed to promote positive behavior, strengthen school communities, and support student success.

“This recognition reflects the intentional work our schools are doing to create welcoming, supportive environments where every scholar can thrive,” said Superintendent Dr. Rachel H. Monárrez. “PBIS is about more than recognizing positive behavior. It is about building a culture of belonging, consistency, connection and high expectations for every student.”

OUSD’s recognized schools have demonstrated a sustained commitment to PBIS practices that support students both academically and socially. Through schoolwide expectations, positive reinforcement, data-informed decision-making and collaboration among educators, students and families, PBIS helps schools establish environments where scholars know what is expected of them and are supported in meeting those expectations.

The 2026 California PBIS Recognition will be celebrated during the California PBIS Conference, October 7–9 in Sacramento. Recognized schools will be honored alongside schools and districts from throughout California that are advancing PBIS implementation in their communities.

The conference also provides an opportunity for OUSD educators and school teams to learn from other PBIS practitioners, explore effective strategies, and bring new ideas back to their school communities.

OUSD congratulates all of its 2026 California PBIS Recognition recipients and thanks them for their continued commitment to creating safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments for every scholar.
