Dear OUSD Community,
You may be aware that there has been conversation regarding potential school consolidation. In the spirit of collaboration, a school consolidation committee consisting of teachers, support staff, caregivers, and school principals representing each high school feeder pattern worked closely with district leadership to explore potential options. The time together helped inform recommendations for possible consideration with the Board of Education at a Work/Study Session on June 18.
In response to the community and Board’s feedback on June 18, OUSD will be reconvening the school consolidation study committee for further discussion, including a revision of the initial timeline. We are also exploring the option of partnering with an external firm to support thoughtful and informed decision-making as the process progresses. Please know that we remain in the exploratory stage of this process, and final decisions have not been made. We are committed to working together to make the best possible decisions to support the needs of all scholars in our district.
We pledge to keep our community informed every step of the way. We will be launching a webpage dedicated to this topic in the near future, and you will be informed when it is accessible.

Sepan que se ha conversado sobre la posible consolidación escolar. Con un espíritu de colaboración, un comité de consolidación escolar, compuesto por docentes, personal de apoyo, cuidadores y directores de cada escuela preparatoria, trabajó en estrecha colaboración con la dirección del distrito para explorar posibles opciones. Este tiempo compartido permitió formular recomendaciones para su posible consideración ante la Junta de Educación en una sesión de trabajo y estudio el 18 de junio.
En respuesta a los comentarios de la comunidad y la Junta del 18 de junio, el OUSD volverá a convocar al comité de estudio de consolidación escolar para continuar el debate, incluyendo una revisión del cronograma inicial. También estamos explorando la opción de asociarnos con una empresa externa para apoyar la toma de decisiones informada y reflexiva a medida que avanza el proceso. Les informamos que seguimos en la etapa exploratoria de este proceso y que aún no se han tomado decisiones definitivas. Nos comprometemos a trabajar juntos para tomar las mejores decisiones posibles y satisfacer las necesidades de todos los estudiantes de nuestro distrito.
