Orange, CA – Orange Unified School District proudly announces that Jacob Scheff, a 2025 Canyon High School graduate, has been named a 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar—one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964 by executive order of the President, recognizes and honors the most distinguished graduating seniors across the nation. In 1979, the program was expanded to honor students with exceptional talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts, and in 2015, it further broadened to include recognition of students excelling in career and technical education fields.
Each year, up to 161 students nationwide are selected as U.S. Presidential Scholars. Jacob’s achievement places him among the most accomplished high school seniors in the United States.
"We are incredibly proud of Jacob and the dedication, talent, and leadership he has demonstrated throughout his time at Canyon High School," said Principal Brent McKee. "This recognition reflects not only his academic excellence but also his character and commitment to success."
Jacob joins a distinguished group of scholars whose achievements in academics, the arts, and career and technical education serve as a testament to the power of hard work and perseverance.
Orange Unified extends heartfelt congratulations to Jacob, his family, and the Canyon High School community on this outstanding national honor.
