Dear OUSD Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I share that one of our school buses carrying special education students was involved in a school bus accident on Santiago Canyon Road this afternoon (Monday, December 16). Two of our students and the bus driver were on board at the time of the incident and were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and care. We are relieved to share that, according to the Orange County Fire Authority, the students’ injuries are non-life-threatening.
The parents of the students have been notified, and our hearts go out to our students, the driver, and their loved ones during this challenging time.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders for their quick response and support, and we are working with the California Highway Patrol on their investigation.
At this time, we kindly ask for your support and understanding as we prioritize the well-being of those involved and respect their privacy.
Sincerely,
Michael L. Christensen

Estimada comunidad,,
Atentamente,
Michael L. Christensen
Superintendente
