ROP/CTE Automotive Systems Teacher - Orange High School

The ROP/CTE Automotive Systems Teacher teaches a 3-course sequence at Orange High School that prepares students for the Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) ASE Student Certification test. The MLR certification requires students to perform the most common maintenance and light repair services. Students will be introduced to automotive technology concepts in the classroom, and be provided lab-based, hands-on maintenance and repair experience. After completion of the sequence, students will be prepared for an entry-level position in today’s automotive services industry.

This position requires knowledge about automobile service and repair, shop safety, engine repair, automatic transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical and electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Letter of Introduction
  • Resume
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (dated within the last 2 years)
  • Three (3) years of work experience directly related to the industry sector. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential:Transportation, or ability to obtain this authorization
  • English Learner Authorization, or ability to obtain this authorization
