Villa Park High School Girl’s Golf Team Earns Orange Unified’s First CIF State Academic Team Champions Title

Orange, CA – September 23, 2019 – The Spartan Girl’s Golf Team was named by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) as one of 35 State Academic Team Champions for the 2018-2019 school year. Villa Park had the only girl’s golf team recognized in California, with a team grade point average of 3.91 on an unweighted scale of 4.0.

This was the third year in a row that Villa Park’s team won the CIF Southern Section Academic Championship, and it is their first California State Academic Championship. Sixteen Southern Section teams were recognized at the State level.

“This is truly the ultimate for any high school athletic team. As much as we celebrate State Athletic Championships, this Academic State Championship is the most important achievement for these scholar-athletes and our school, said Villa Park High School Principal Ken Miller, Ed.D. “I want to thank our coaches, teachers, counselors and administration for their support.”

Congratulations to the Villa Park High School Girl’s Golf team for consistently demonstrating the Orange Unified EDGE in action: Focus Area 1.0 – Excellence in Academics and Leadership!
