Villa Park High School Cheer’s Spartan Spirit Nabs CIF Division 2 Runner Up

Competitive Cheer Team closes inaugural CIF season 

Villa Park, CA – January 24, 2019- Villa Park High School’s Competitive Cheer team stormed to the CIF Division 2 Runner Up classification during Saturday’s CIF Finals. Villa Park earned high praise throughout the tournament for technical performance acumen and their infectious energy and spirit.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as Cheer Advisor to such a dedicated group of athletes! I trust we made Orange Unified School District and the Villa Park community proud with this championship run,” stated Lisa Hedspeth.

Isabel “Izzy” Knowles-Cruz, Villa Park High School competitive coach added, “I am so proud of our Competitive Cheer athletes. They worked so hard and put in so many hours the last two months to earn this championship run. They did such a tremendous job and made our school and community proud!”

Earning the CIF-SS Division 2 Runner Up distinction is the latest achievement for Villa Park’s  Competitive Cheer squad, who has received a number of accolades over the years,  including first place at the National Championship in 2016.
