The following narrative was provided by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA):

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is pleased to announce that Tom Fox, Athletic Director at Villa Park High School, has been recognized by this association as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator.

To earn this distinction, Tom has demonstrated exemplary knowledge, contributions and on-going professional development in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience, NIAAA Leadership Courses and professional contributions. It is culminated with a practical written or oral presentation project.

Tom is one of a very elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.

The NIAAA is a national professional organization consisting of all 50 state athletic administrator associations and more than 10,000 individual members. It is dedicated to promoting the professional growth of high school athletic administrators and preserving the educational nature of interscholastic athletics and the place of these programs in the secondary school curriculum.

Villa Park High School Principal Ken Miller, Ed.D. stated, “We at Orange Unified School District at Villa Park High School celebrate this fine gentleman and his prestigious professional achievement. This distinction is one of many honors Tom has earned throughout his honorable 15 year career at Villa Park High School as Athletic Director, Middle School Athletic Director, Century Conference President and current President of the Orange County Athletic Directors’ Association. Tom also served as Athletic Director at St. Paul High School and was a CIF Championship Basketball Coach at St. Paul.
