September 2019 General Facilities Updates

SYNTHETIC TRACK AND FIELD PROJECTS:

  • ADA field access projects at Canyon High School and Orange High School, which will include the addition of new concrete walkways, flatwork, fencing, and parking lot improvements are underway and on schedule. It is our hope to have a ribbon cutting ceremony for the fields in October 2019.
  • Byrom-Davey began work last week to repair the track and field asphalt at Villa Park High School.  The work will continue through Spring 2020 and will include the second phase ADA work similar to the near completed work at Orange and Canyon High Schools.

DEFERRED MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

All scheduled deferred maintenance projects were completed prior to the start of the 2019-20 school year and have resulted in some amazing upgrades.  Staff will be presenting an informational update on the projects at the September 12, 2019 Board Meeting.

SOLAR PROJECTS:

The solar array projects are well underway at the MOT yard, Canyon Rim ES, McPherson Magnet, Orange HS, Portola MS, Santiago MS, and Yorba MS. All projects, (with the exception of Santiago’s amphitheater shade cover), will be completed by late August 2019. Parking for the start of the school will not be affected.
