Both Crescent Elementary Robotics Teams Headed to State!

Orange, CA – January 29, 2019 – Orange Unified is proud to announce that Crescent Elementary Robotics Team B, Crescent Cougar Bots, has now advanced to the VEX IQ State level. Team B won the Excellence Award at Tustin Unified’s competition on Saturday. 

Coached by Crescent teacher Jennie Bond, Team 15B Crescent Cougar Bots includes students Tanish Basu, Sophia Gerges, Niyati Godha, Anish Kalluri, Riley Markley, Ellie Nguyen, and Aidan Sullivan.

Crescent Team A, Scoring Machines, won the Excellence and Alliance Awards again at a regional competition also on Saturday held at El Rancho Charter Middle School. Team A members include Wesley Eltiti, Sasha Kim, John Malilim, Summer Najib, Sree Vadlamudi, Devin Williams, and Ian Williams. Team A is also headed for State VEX IQ

"We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our Teacher Advisor Mrs. Bond as well as the time contributed by our parent volunteers to support our students so they can do their best," stated Principal Shelé Tamaki.   "Our strong Robotics program demonstrates 21st century learning to increase and strengthen student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education while preparing our students to be college and career ready.”
