Saturday Enrichment Academy Offers Students Additional Opportunities for Hands-On Learning

Orange, CA – December 4, 2018 – This past Saturday, students headed to their local schools to participate in the newly developed Saturday Enrichment Academy (SEA) at the Orange Unified School District. Following the success at Jordan Elementary and Orange High School, there were 20 schools who participated on Saturday, with over 1,100 students in attendance.

Community partners, parents, staff, and students all came together for a myriad of exciting and educational activities. Students were engaged in programs to learn about coding, aerodynamics, physics, creative writing, robotics, graphic design, and STEAM activities, just to mention a few. The various activities were designed to enhance the learning of educational standards in an environment that is relaxed and highly interactive.

This was only the first opportunity to attend the Academy and more will take place in the future.  There are select Saturdays throughout the school year when students will have a chance to voluntarily participate. The academy runs for a little over four hours on designated Saturdays, and snack will be provided.  Please contact your school site for the next SEA date and come join in the fun!
