Orange Unified Offers Free Weekend Enrichment Program

Orange, CA – November 14, 2018 – In an effort to provide the best possible educational experience for students, Orange Unified recently launched the Saturday Enrichment Academy (SEA) at Jordan Elementary and Orange High School.

The half-day SEA program presents students with the opportunity to receive supplemental academic instruction in a less formal environment than a regular school day. Enrichment activities include STEAM lessons, Reader’s Theatre, Lexia Learning, computer coding, Nitro Type, math practice and more.

Research has shown that there is a direct link between student success and school attendance. Missing school can cause students to fall behind academically and to feel disconnected from their peers. The SEA Program will offer students of all grade levels the opportunity to make up for missed instruction, though students with perfect attendance are also welcome to attend.

Orange Unified’s Saturday Enrichment Academy is completely free and student attendance is voluntary. The program will rollout districtwide in the beginning of December. For site-specific SEA opportunities, please contact your child’s school.
