“YOU’VE GOT THE EDGE” Employee of the Month Recognition program has been designed with the District’s Core Values in mind. This program encourages outstanding customer service in the workplace in fulfillment of the District’s new Strategic Plan. It increases awareness of the goals and values as well as the importance and significance of outstanding performance.
Certificated and Classified employees who have been nominated by their peers, co-workers, and/or supervisors are selected for exemplifying the following core values:

- Equity - We promote inclusive and culturally relevant environments by supporting the social-emotional and intellectual needs of all.
- Respect - We advocate for strong, compassionate relationships that appreciate the unique qualities of our diverse community.
- Excellence - We strive for the highest standards in all endeavors by deliberately pursuing continuous growth and innovation.
The recipients of the “YOU’VE GOT THE EDGE” award for April 2023 are:
Tracie Dunwoody, 1st grade Teacher at Anaheim Elementary School, and Stacie Hokenson, Substitute Service Technician, in Human Resources.
Both Tracie and Stacie go above and beyond to serve the staff and students of the Orange Unified School District in ways that reflect the core values of OUSD’s EDGE.
Anaheim Hills Elementary Principal, Kory Cosca, had this to say about Tracie:
Mrs. Dunwoody demonstrates integrity as she works with students and families by engaging in clear, consistent communication that promotes and supports student success. Her compassion is clearly evident as she strives to improve the learning environment of her classroom and looks for ways to refine systems to support students across the school site. She shows respect while working with students and staff members and continuously makes decisions based on the unique needs of those she serves and collaborates with. Her caring attitude and commitment to ensuring excellence is admirable and exemplifies the core values of OUSD. Our staff at Anaheim Hills Elementary School is thankful to have her on the team!
Nohl Canyon Principal, Jeff Jones, had this to say about Stacie:
Stacie Hokenson represents OUSD's four Core Values of Integrity, Equity, Respect, and Excellence by her continuous support for school sites in dispatching substitute teachers. Stacie has a welcoming and approachable nature to her and strives to support each school to the best of her ability. Stacie is honest and straightforward when communicating with office managers and administrators. She understands the stress administrators and school sites are under to ensure classrooms are covered with high-quality substitute teachers and has built strong, collaborative relationships. Nohl Canyon is just one school site that appreciates the support and challenging job that Stacie does each and every day with a smile!
