Jyoti Patel, School Psychologist at Fletcher Elementary School was recognized with an EDGE Challenge Coin by Dr. Lupe Perales, Coordinator at Special Education, for exemplifying the district’s core values of Respect and Excellence, as well as her superior performance in aligning her actions to support the OUSD strategic plan Focus Area 3.0: Genuine Wellness and Safety.

Jyoti has always been an exceptional School Psychologist, and it shows in everything she does, every day. Jyoti is always willing to go the distance and take care of business even when it’s difficult and stressful. She is pleasant, hardworking, and understanding. Recently, in a time of crisis for one of our students, she showed exceptional compassion and resolve in helping the student through a traumatic experience. It was because of the strong relationship and trust she has built with this student over the past four years that he turned to our school for help when he needed it most. Because of her actions, this child was able to get through this difficult time and will continue to receive much-needed support.
