Students must:

  • Be an Orange Unified School District's student
     
  • Complete the Online Training Unit to learn how to use OUSD's online tools and how to succeed as an online learner

  • Make sure you have added your email address in Blackboard.

  • Attend a “Meet and Greet” your online teacher meeting during the first weeks of school

If you are unable to attend the meeting you will need to arrange a face-to-face meeting with your teacher.  Your  teacher will contact you through email the first week of school, so please make sure your email address is correct in Blackboard.  Under the My Courses tab, click on Personal Information and enter your current email address.  
 

  • Be enrolled in 4 traditional classes in order to be eligible to take online classes. Students may enroll in a maximum of 2 online courses per semester.
     
  • Actively participate in weekly discussions via the online Blogs, Discussion Board and "virtual chats" with the teacher and other enrolled students utilizing Wimba Pronto and Elluminate.
  • Complete a technology-rich variety of assignments including projects, Wikis, Blogs, ePortfolios, Softchalks, Electronic Study Guides, surveys, digital videos, Wimba Voice Boards, tasks from interactive textbooks, web-based assignments in reading, and problem-solving.
     
  • Take all regular tests face-to-face on campus.
     
  • Log into Blackboard daily to complete your daily blogs.
