NCLB:  Parent Right To Know Letter

As a parent of a student in the Orange Unified School District, under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the teachers who instruct your child.  The No Child Left Behind act gives you the right to ask for the following information about each of your child’s classroom teachers:

 

·         Whether the State of California has licensed or qualified the teacher for the grades and subjects he or she teaches.

·         Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency permit or other provisional status by which state licensing criteria have been waived.

·         The teacher’s college major; whether the teacher has any advanced degrees and, if so, the subject of the degrees.

·         Whether any instructional aides or similar paraprofessionals provide services to your child and if they do, their qualifications.

No Dejaremos Atrás Ni Un Solo Niño:

Carta a los Padres Sobre el Derecho que tienen de Estar Informados.

Como Padre de un estudiante en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Orange, bajo el Acta de No Dejaremos Atrás Ni Un Solo Niño 2001, tiene el derecho de saber los requisitos profesionales de los maestros que imparten las clases a sus hijos.  El Acta de No Dejaremos Atrás Ni Un Solo Niño le otorga el derecho a preguntar la siguiente información acerca de cada uno de los maestros que imparten clases a sus hijos:

 

  • Si el Estado de California ha otorgado una licencia o calificado competente al maestro(a) para  impartir los grados y materias que él o ella imparten.
  • Si el maestro(a) esta enseñando bajo un permiso de emergencia u otra posición provisional por el cual la licencia estatal ha sido omitida.
  • La carrera profesional del maestro(a), si el maestro tiene algún otro titulo profesional y, si es, así las materias de este título.
  • Si algún asistente del maestro o para-profesionista similar provee servicios a sus hijos y si lo hacen, cuales son sus conocimientos.
