H2O Conservation Event

Come on by the El Modena Nature Center on Saturday, March 7 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM to learn about water conservation. For more information, check out the flyer HERE and the website HERE.

Science Olympiad

On Saturday, February 14, El Modena's Science Olympiad Team competed at the Southern California Science Olympiad Regional Competition at UCI, where they placed THIRD in the Mission Possible event. Students involved in Mission Possible were David Tu, Alexis Tinoco, Stephanie Tamayosa. El Mo's Science Olympiad coaches are Jenny Kung, Pam Netherton, Ernesto Nodado, and Lori Rivera. Coach Kung said of her students, "Students worked extremely hard and spent a large amount of time after school and during the weekends on their Mission Possible device. Their hard work definitely showed!"

SAT Bootcamp

The El Modena PTSA would like to encourage El Mo students to enroll in the Catalyst SAT Bootcamp, a 2-day workshop that arms students with go-to strategies for every question they're guaranteed to face on the SAT. The SAT Bootcamp will be held at El Modena High School on Saturday, February 28th and Sunday, March 1st from 9am-1pm. The cost is just $175. Computer Science Honor

At the SkillsUSA Region 3 Conference on January 24, El Modena students Brian Vertullo and David Weed competed and placed in the school's first appearance at this competition. Vertullo, a junior, won the gold medal for Technical Computer Applications, and Weed, a senior, was a runner-up in Electronics Technology. Great job, Vanguards!
