Welcome Back!

August 25,2010- Another great school year at El Mo has begun! This year, students must wear their ID on a lanyard at all times on campus.

We have added many new members to our staff: • Cesar Flores is our new assistant principal • Glenn Giokaris is now overseeing discipline • Jennifer Fors and Jeff Crooks are joining our special education team. • Cindy Judd is now a member of our mathematics team. • Ed Drzanek and Krystal Lee are now members of the PE department. • Gwynn Alexander joins us as our new photography teacher. • Pam Netherton is our new Earth science teacher. • Richard Garcia is our new social studies teacher. • Seonag Turner is our new dance instructor. • Jackie Slater will be teaching sports medicine. • Heather Chapman is returning and will be teaching AVID • Anna Quintero is our new community liaison • Tina Dunnebeck is rejoining us as our school resource officer.

Newsweek Names El Modena one of America's Best Schools

July 19,2010- Each year, Newsweek picks the best high schools in the country based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced placement college‐level courses and tests. El Modena High School continues to be on this list. Last year, El Modena was ranked 1,269 out of 1,600 schools. Only six percent of all the public schools in the U.S. made the list.
