The Purchasing Department is responsible to provide excellent level transactional services. With a dedicated, seasoned and well-trained staff, the Department efficiently performs contracting and procurement activities, mail processing services, print shop services, and warehouse, inventory and delivery operations. The Department actively pursues continuous improvement in business processes and technologies and the best value for public works projects, products and professional services. Department Services are performed in accordance with the laws of the State of California including the Public Contract Code, the Education Code, the Labor Code, and the Government Code, as well as the regulations promulgated by the District Board of Education. The Department utilizes business ethics in all undertakings.

MAIL CENTER SERVICES:

Districtwide sorting and delivery of all inbound and outbound mail items for 46 sites

Efficient Processing of District mass mailings (PB digital Smartmailer system, USPS Bulk Rate items, etc.)
PRINT SHOP SERVICES:

Broad range of high quality digital reprographic services including full color

Digital email job submission

Services performed at 25-50% below cost of commercial print shop fees

Ten million print images annually, 80% for student classroom use
WAREHOUSE & DELIVERY SERVICES:

Nutrition items, Paper and Supplies Deliveries

Receiving, Inspection and Engraving of Equipment

Record Retention Program
